Tuesday, February 21st, 2012

Southport homes for saleIf you haven’t met with me, Mary Ann Bechtel, to talk about what’s going on in Southport, NC, you’re in for a big surprise. I know the Brunswick Islands and the Southport homes for sale like nobody else and I will spend the time to show you the most stunning properties you could imagine. I work in residential real estate in Southport and the surrounding areas of the Brunswick Islands.

Real estate is on many people’s minds these days, whether you’re buying or selling Southport homes for sale. There are many to choose from if you’re in the market to buy a new home, a second home or are ready to retire here. With interest rates still low, this is a great time to be purchasing retirement or investment property. It’s definitely a buyers market but it won’t last forever.

The area offers beautiful Southport homes for sale and excellent investment opportunities with Southern character and charm that you just won’t find anywhere else. Whether you are relocating, investing, or purchasing a retirement property, give me a call and we’ll talk about Southport and how I can help you find that perfect property you’ve been looking for.

If you’re looking for things to do while you’re in town perusing the real estate, I recommend checking out the Odell Williamson Auditorium 2012 Performing Art Series. The Harry James Orchestra performs at 7:30 p.m. on February 28, 2012 at the Odell Williamson Auditorium, Supply, N.C. Contact Box Office for ticket pricing. 910-755-7416 or 800-755-1050 Ext 7416.

Remember to give me a call at (910) 579-2600 and we’ll discuss your future as a Southport homeowner.

Encouraging Fall?

Wednesday, September 2nd, 2009

Hello all,

It was a busy, busy August around the office. I am not complaining by any means but it gives me high hopes for our real estate activity this Fall, which is when we traditionally see a surge. Golfers are in town and many vacationers visit after the crowds have gone home. It really is the best time at the beach.
So out of curiosity, I compared the Brunswick County MLS sales for August 2008 to August 2009. I was pleasantly surprised to see that we are just a a few sales short of matching the 2008 figures.

In August 2008, 138 homes and condos closed. In 2009 it was 129.

That is only 9 less! Really not bad!

I know 2008 wasn’t the best year on the books but I am glad to see we aren’t suffering from a drastic decline at this point. I am keeping hope alive!

To all you golfers and beach lovers, come down for a visit and enjoy this great weather. Play a round on Sea Trail, Ocean Ridge, Sandpiper Bay, Crow Creek… the list goes on and on. Or simply relax on the beach with a good book.

Either way, you don’t want to miss the coming months here in beautiful Brunswick County.

This is the Life…

Wednesday, July 15th, 2009

This weekend as I took a few moments to relax on my dock and take in the beautiful waterway views, I watched boats drift by and thought to myself, “You know, this is the life.”

It is so easy to get so caught up in our day to day schedules and “to do” lists that we forget what it is that initially drew us to the Brunswick Isles. Repeatedly for years and years most of us have vacationed here in fact, that is until you ultimately decide to move here for good!
Breathtaking sunsets, the most brilliant blue skies imaginable, amazing weather and our short winter season, golf courses on nearly every corner, pristine beaches, the list goes on and on… not to mention the warmth of our small town atmosphere.

Whether your favorite beach is Sunset, Ocean Isle, or Holden Beach we can all agree there is nothing like OUR beaches!

I hope you will get the opportunity to visit this summer or fall and enjoy everything that Brunswick County has to offer. Go ahead take a minute to look at these amazing deals and start living the life NOW!

Is there really a light at the end of the tunnel?

Tuesday, June 2nd, 2009

Everyone wants to know… will the real estate market here in Brunswick County pick up anytime soon. Who knows right? If we only had a crystal ball, I’ve said it a thousand times over again. I can say that I am starting to see some signs that point towards yes… finally!

Not so fast though! It will take quite a while to weed through this inventory that we have out there but that is to be expected.
